About Us

Since 1980, Local Initiatives Support Corporation (LISC) has
been the nation’s largest community development support organization. Opened in
1997, Duluth LISC has been an integral part of affordable housing and
neighborhood revitalization providing financial tools, technical assistance, and
policy support to Community Development Corporations (CDCs).
Since its founding, LISC has supported more than 2,800 CDCs, built or rehabilitated over 160,000 affordable homes, and created almost 25 million square feet of retail, community, and educational space. LISC has marshaled more than $6 billion from 3,100 investors, lenders, and donors for CDCs to use in planning and implementing projects, strengthening their organizations and leveraging another $14 billion in investment in low-income communities.

Locally, Duluth LISC has generated $51 million in leveraged funds from over 60 funding partners, resulting in 651 units of affordable housing and over 68,000 square feet of commercial/industrial space, generating over $7 to Duluth for every local dollar raised.
