Where We Work
Duluth LISC serves the greater Duluth area, the cities of Duluth, Hermantown, and Proctor, Minnesota. We accomplish much of our work through Community Development Corporations (CDCs) working in the neighborhoods of these communities.
Duluth LISC established the “At Home in Duluth” program, which is committed to revitalizing Duluth’s older neighborhoods: Central Hillside, East Hillside, Lincoln Park and West Duluth. “At Home in Duluth” revitalizes Duluth’s most distressed neighborhoods through community-based collaboration and a commitment to resident-based planning, generating renewed hope, excitement, and a higher quality of life in Duluth’s neighborhoods. Duluth LISC also work with the Affordable Housing Coaltion and its Duluth Housing initiative. The goal of Duluth Housing 1000 is to create a net gain of 1,000 housing units in Duluth by the year 2010, with at least 33 percent of the units classified as affordable for low- to moderate-income households.
