Grants
Access to flexible, unrestricted capital is imperative for small businesses to grow, innovate, and thrive. Historically, entrepreneurs have tapped social and professional networks for that capital, but in communities of color, those networks are rarely as robust or well-capitalized. LISC offers a variety of flexible, affordable financing products and outright grants to help entrepreneurs move to the next stage in their businesses.
Similarly, housing developers who want to create affordable housing units in communities of color often have few resources available to them. LISC Bay Area offers a creative solution to this problem by providing pre-development phase grants to faith-based organizations that wish to develop affordable housing on their land.
Please find more information about LISC Bay Area’s grant programs below. Additional information about LISC National’s grants for small businesses is available here.
LISC and Verizon have partnered to provide over $17.5 million in grants to support 1,700 small businesses and offer a learning platform for small businesses to plan, manage, and grow their businesses.
The Faith and Housing program provides faith-based organizations in the San Francisco Bay Area with the financing, skills, and knowledge to explore the feasibility of developing affordable housing units on their land and supplies the resources to move projects forward.
