Evita Chavez, Senior Program Officer

Evita is a Senior Program Officer at LISC Bay Area. She is a heart-driven leader committed to creating equitable communities through systems change. Prior to joining LISC Bay Area, Evita was a Program Officer at the San Francisco Foundation focused on housing advocacy and policy at the state and regional level. In her time at the San Francisco Foundation, she oversaw grantmaking for a $4M portfolio, developed and oversaw the Partnership for the Bay’s Future’s Policy Grant programs, and supported advocacy for key affordable housing production, preservation and tenant protection policies.

Evita also previously served as a Legislative Assistant for Senator Bob Wieckowski, where she staffed housing and transportation policy, including landmark legislation on accessory dwelling units. She earned a Masters in Urban Planning from the Harvard Graduate School of Design and a Bachelors in Urban and Environmental Policy from Occidental College. Evita is a proud Los Angeles native who loves living and working in the Bay Area. In her free time, she enjoys running, exploring the region and kissing her cat on the forehead.
