LISC's 4th Annual Local Founder's Stage Pitch Contest

Are you ready to pitch your business for a chance to win $10,000?

If so, join LISC Boston at its 4th Annual Local Founders Stage event, a small business pitch competition! Local Founders Stage was created in order to highlight the innovation that exists within communities of color and allow entrepreneurs the opportunity to showcase their business ideas, get feedback, and build relationships with judges and community stakeholders. And, of course, compete for cash prizes to support their business!

...This year, we are taking the competition to a new stage.

LISC Boston is teaming up with BECMA during their Mass Black Expo, which takes place on Friday, November 1st and Saturday, November 2nd at the Boston Convention & Exhibit Center.  We will hold the competition for four (4) growth-stage businesses on November 2nd from 3:30 PM - 5:00 PM. These four businesses will have the opportunity to compete for a 1st place prize of $10,000 and a 2nd place prize of $5,000 (People's Choice Award).

Here are the eligibility requirements:

• Operating between 2-5 years
• Generating between $100,000 and $300,000 in revenue
• Majority Black-owned

The application consists of submitting a 1-minute video about your business, uploading a 2-3 page business plan summary, and answering several questions regarding the biggest challenges facing your business growth. If you are selected to participate in the contest, you will have 5-minutes to pitch to a panel of judges which will be followed by Q&A.

Your application will be submitted to the panel of judges so that they are able to provide targeted feedback based on your entire application in addition to your pitch.

Earlier in the day, candidates nominated by our local partners through local accelerator programs will pitch their businesses from 12:00 PM - 2:30 PM.
