Thank you to the 70+ people who got creative with us at the Next Level Housing Solutions Discussion: Creative Financing Solutions on Tuesday, September 10, 2019.
Our goal was to consider how financing solutions can address the housing challenges we face. Karen Kelleher of LISC Boston got us started by posing six ways that public and private investment can be part of the solution – from providing much-needed subsidy and taking risk to catalyzing a scaled response to our region's housing crisis. Download the presentation below to see the six ways.
We then broke into groups to brainstorm about the most innovative and impactful uses of public and private financing that should be explored, the market opportunities and challenges we can seize or must anticipate, and ways to grow and sustain funding for operating subsidies and supportive services where needed. We generated lots of ideas and heard a lot of interest in exploring financing as a way to scale our response to the crisis.
Stay tuned to the Next Level Housing Solutions mailing list for the ideas from those discussions and potential next steps. Summaries and presentation materials from all of our discussions are available here.
Be sure to join the Next Level Housing Solutions mailing list if you would like to be notified of updates and the dates for future discussions. Each session begins with a high-level recap of the ones before.
