Fredrick (Fred) Stewart, Program Assistant, has quickly become a valuable asset to Local Initiatives Support Corporation (LISC) Peoria office. He provides critical program support, grant management, and day-to-day administrative operations at the Greater Peoria local office. Fred is also a significant player in retaining vital relationships with our core network partners. His proficiencies include, but are not limited to financial coaching, housing counseling, small business lending, strategic planning, project management and home restoration. Fred’s current skills were birthed out of the 20 years of non-profit, community development and faith-based expansions he brings to LISC.
He served as Program Director of the first FOC established in Peoria, as well as Business Development Manager for CORCDC where he managed the transformation of a 65,000 square foot department store into a worship edifice for 1,000+ parishioners. This site rehabilitation costs over $1.5 million and was distinguished as Peoria’s first business incubator. Another example of Fred’s accomplishments regard the transformation of a former bank into a Community Outreach Health Center. This venture was a collaboration with OSF and Methodist Hospitals to fill voids in healthcare and support services for underserved residents of Peoria’s South Side. Fred’s depth of knowledge and understanding of Peoria’s infrastructure, market place needs and community development aspirations have proven instrumental to our Peoria office.
Fred is a native of Memphis, Tennessee and earned his Bachelor of Business Administration in Management and Marketing degree from Jackson State University.
