Have you ever found yourself absolutely frustrated when trying to make facility decisions for your charter school? This is something we hear about constantly in our conversations with new and veteran charter school leaders. Trying to ease this anxiety is a major part of why we launched SchoolBuild over a year ago. Here at SchoolBuild, our entire purpose is to provide schools with the information they need to ease the facility process. We hope these answers will help school leaders focus on what’s happening inside the classroom, instead of worrying about the structures around it.
This week we are joining in the School Choice Week celebrations with the launch of this SchoolBuild blog! This blog is a unique opportunity to extend the work we have partnered with our colleagues across the sector to do. The SchoolBuild Blog will be your source for the latest charter school facility news, sector updates, events, and research. We will be posting about once a quarter, but something tells us you will hear from us way more frequently.
To that end, we want to share some exciting news from the LISC Charter School Financing team. We have partnered with Capital Impact Partners to produce our “All About Location: Choosing the Right Site for Your Charter School” webinar. Join us on March 28th to learn about:
- Assembling a competent site selection team
- Understanding what criteria to consider when assessing a potential charter school site
- Understanding how different factors (e.g., cost, student demand) affect the feasibility of a potential building
