LISC Chicago today announced the opening of applications for the 2023 Chicago Neighborhood Development Awards (CNDAs) and The Richard H. Driehaus Foundation Award for Architectural Excellence in Community Design, both of which will be accepted through Jan. 18, 2023. Now entering its 29th year, the CNDAs annually recognize the essential role that both nonprofit and for-profit developers and innovative architecture play in building communities throughout Chicago.
The CNDAs are the largest and most-anticipated celebration of the innovation and community investments that transform Chicago’s neighborhoods each year. The awards recognize outstanding accomplishments in community building and neighborhood real estate development, particularly those of community development corporations, other community-based organizations, and for-profit developers working to strengthen the Chicago metropolitan area’s neighborhoods. Richard H. Driehaus Foundation established the Richard H. Driehaus Foundation Award for Architectural Excellence in Community Design to acknowledge the significance of excellent design and craftsmanship to city life.
Community development empowers Chicago's neighborhoods, and recognizing, celebrating, and honoring those who spearhead this work is so important,” said Meghan Harte, executive director of LISC Chicago. “The diverse group of awardees continues to grow. We look forward to seeing applications this year and encourage communities to share with their networks.”
