LISC Chicago announced today that applications are now open for the 2024 Chicago Neighborhood Development Awards (CNDAs), The Richard H. Driehaus Foundation Award for Architectural Excellence in Community Design, and The Richard H. Driehaus Foundation Community Design Impact Award. Submissions for all awards will be open through January 23, 2024.
Celebrating its 30th year, the CNDAs stand as the most significant and eagerly awaited tribute to the outstanding achievements in community building and real estate development, with a particular focus on the impactful contributions of community development corporations, community-based organizations, architects, and developers dedicated to enhancing Chicago’s neighborhoods. Over the course of several months, hundreds of volunteers are involved in the winner selection process. Winners receive a cash prize and are recognized at the CNDAs event in June 2024, attended by more than 800 people.
"Over three decades of the Chicago Neighborhood Development Awards, we've observed the profound influence of pioneering community-led development and innovative architecture in the vibrancy of our city,” said Meghan Harte, Senior Executive Director of LISC Chicago. “The 30th annual celebration marks not only a milestone but a tribute to the commitment of nonprofit and for-profit developers, architects, and community organizations and the critical work of building resilient, inclusive, and vibrant neighborhoods.”
