Our Work
LISC Cleveland is dedicated to bringing investment capital, grants, and technical assistance to improve conditions for individuals with low and moderate incomes and historically disinvested communities in the region. Our work brings a place-based community development focus, along with financial tools, to focus on improving the economic outcomes for Black, Indigenous and People of Color (BIPOC) individuals, as well as preserving affordable housing and supporting minority business ownership throughout the region.
LISC recently laid out its national Project 10X strategy, an initiative to close racial health, wealth and opportunity gaps. Over 10 years, LISC will invest $1 billion in rural and urban communities across the country. The initiative aims to scale proven solutions, seed new ideas, and build the capacity of partner organizations. These investments will target four fundamental approaches to building equity:
- Generating enduring wealth and equity through homeownership and small business ownership
- Building credit and savings and strengthening financial institutions led by BIPOC individuals
- Investing in community wellness, digital access, education, arts, and justice reform
- Supporting quality jobs with good wages and benefits
Project 10X will lay the foundation for LISC Cleveland. The housing and economic development efforts will be focused on generating wealth through homeownership and small business development, investing in community wellness, supporting quality jobs with good wages and benefits, and preserving affordable housing in Cleveland.
