LISC Connecticut is turning 40! Join us Thursday, September 19, 2024 from 5:00 pm - 10:00 pm ET at The Bond Ballroom, 338 Asylum St.
Since coming to Connecticut in 1984, LISC has invested more than $103 million in grants in loans to transform lives and revitalize communities across the state.
For four decades, LISC has been an indispensable force that enables remarkable work to happen. We connect people to quality, affordable housing and to economic security through job readiness and good employment. We build the capacity of community development corporations (CDCs) and offers technical assistance to community-based organizations to strengthen outcomes and increase impact for residents.
We've learned a lot in that time. Our work is far from over; we’re just warming up for the vital work ahead.
We are seeking to continue our strong work in affordable housing, lending and support of community development corporations (CDCs), increase BIPOC homeownership to build wealth and stabilize neighborhoods, while expanding our local work in community economic development, including health and housing, financial opportunity, and talent development. There are opportunities to enhance LISC Connecticut’s work in these areas, building on recent successes in urban revitalization and housing development. Meanwhile, LISC needs to address Connecticut’s limited CDC capacity to capitalize on expected federal and state funding for affordable housing and community development and to achieve racial equity goals.
It’s been an extraordinary 40 years. Let’s celebrate this milestone—and the promise of continued community transformation—together!
