Products & Services
LISC provides loan capital for nearly every aspect of development, from planning and acquisition to construction and stabilization. We offer technical assistance to community-based organizations working to improve the supply and condition of affordable housing in their neighborhoods. And we advocate for better housing policy at all levels of government.
Lending
As one of the largest community development financial institutions (CDFI) in the nation, we work in partnership with local grassroots groups, community-minded for-profit developers, and government agencies to finance programs and projects that will have a positive, long-term impact.
Transit-Oriented Development Fund
Building near Connecticut’s bus and rail lines can better connect people and places to each other. Transit-oriented development (TOD) attracts businesses and jobs, maximizes existing infrastructure and capitalizes on new investments. It makes communities of all economic status more vibrant. LISC offers low-cost, predevelopment financing for TOD that enhances both the quality of life for residents and the long-term financial stability of our cities and towns.
Section 4 - Capacity Building Grants
Section 4 is the only program at the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) specifically designed to build the capacity of non-profit CDCs. LISC is one of three administrators nationally for this program.
Grants & Technical Assistance
We provide direct technical assistance to diverse network of partners statewide. This helps organizations leverage funding opportunities, build organizational capacity, navigate complex housing regulations, and develop comprehensive housing strategies.
