Mission

Together with residents and partners, LISC forges resilient and inclusive communities of opportunity across America – great places to live, work, visit, do business, and raise families.

LISC is a national organization with a community focus. Our program staff are based in over 38 cities and in many of the rural areas where LISC-supported community development takes shape. In collaboration with local community development groups, LISC staff help identify priorities and challenges, delivering the most appropriate support to meet local needs.

Vision

Guided by a goal to foster socially and economically vibrant neighborhoods with quality housing options, living wage jobs, and thriving community institutions. We rely on the collective wisdom of those who know their neighborhoods best. Equally important, we seek to ensure that as neighborhoods improve, current residents are empowered, to stay, work and contribute to the future of communities across Connecticut.
