Rocket Wealth Accelerator Aims to Close Racial Wealth Gap in Detroit

So many community members in Detroit are ready to improve their lives and finances but face systemic barriers to getting ahead. LISC’s Financial Opportunity Center® (FOC) model allows community members and local partner organizations to work side-by-side to build family-sustaining career pathways and financial success so people can achieve their goals. To further enhance the range of opportunities individuals can access at our FOC partner sites and to address the racial wealth gap, LISC is proud to partner with the Rocket Community Fund to provide the Rocket Wealth Accelerator.

The Rocket Wealth Accelerator offers one-to-one matching dollars for participants’ savings plans, with up to $500 for people with large-dollar goals such as purchasing a home or vehicle, and up to $300 for those with short-term or emergency savings goals. By improving a community member’s ability to meet emergency needs, build their credit and grow generational wealth, we’re providing a launch pad for them to reach their goals.
