This webinar provides the opportunity to learn more about the Connected Communities policies, how they were developed, and the next steps in the policy process.
Cincinnati is a great place to call home, but a difficult place to find housing. To help reduce some of the highest increases in housing costs in the country, the City of Cincinnati introduced its “Connected Communities” initiative, which are a series of targeted but impactful land use changes to not only manage the housing crisis but also create a more accessible, people-focused, diverse, healthy, and connected community for all. With policies ranging from building more middle housing to relaxing density requirements, to changing parking minimums, Connected Communities is focusing on policies that have proven records of success. In addition, hearing from Cincinnatians has been a centerpiece of Connected Communities. With over two years of extensive community engagement of both everyday citizens and professionals, thousands of pieces of feedback were received to help create the policies.
