Powerful Partners for Resilient Communities
LISC Hampton Roads and RISE Resilience Innovations have launched a new partnership aimed at addressing the growing resilience threats facing the region's vulnerable communities.
LISC Hampton Roads and RISE have partnered to host an interactive and in-person discussion around opportunities for innovation to advance community resilience on June 28th in Norfolk, VA. Topics will focused on challenges to resilience in vulnerable communities, including environmental hazards, affordable housing, inequities in access to services, emergency response, and more. Participants played a key role in validating, shaping and refining well-defined problems that hold significant impact if addressed. LISC and RISE is now helping source innovative solutions and work with partners – including workshop participants – to pilot those solutions in the living lab of Hampton Roads in the form of a Community Resilience Challenge. The overall community resilience initiative is powered financially by Sentara Health.
