LISC Houston Announces Laura Jaramillo as Executive Director

We are pleased to share exciting news about Laura Jaramillo. As most of you know, Laura graciously stepped in to serve as interim executive director of LISC Houston last fall, and she has done an excellent job in that role. We are excited to announce that Laura will be staying on full-time as the executive director effective June 13th, 2022.  Laura has been a long-time partner of LISC, having served on the LAC since 2003, including a term as Chair from 2012 to 2015. We are thrilled to be working with her in this new capacity as she executes on a vision to bring our Houston program into its next chapter.

Laura is tapping into 30 years of experience to lead the organization’s local partnerships and investment strategies, all focused on catalyzing opportunities for families and communities. Laura will continue to provide market leadership and support the team in advancing its strategic framework and programmatic initiatives focused on driving equitable and inclusive growth, and addressing health, wealth, and opportunity gaps by creating pathways for people and places to prosper.

Prior to LISC, Laura spent nearly two decades at Wells Fargo, most recently as senior vice president leading the bank’s Texas community development team. Earlier, she worked for 10 years at JPMorgan Chase in a range of lending roles with a particular focus on financing for women- and minority-led small businesses.

Laura has a strong commitment to her community as evidenced by her extensive board service and volunteerism. She has served in various appointed positions at the City of Houston including as Board Chair of the Houston Housing Authority and as an appointee to Mayor Turner’s Complete Communities Improvement Fund Advisory Board and the Office of Business Opportunity. She is a senior fellow of American Leadership Forum and the Center for Houston’s Future.

We look forward to continue working together with her to chart the course for the next phase of LISC’s investments in Houston and the surrounding region. Laura can be reached ljaramillo@lisc.org.  Please join us in congratulating Laura on this new position with LISC!
