LISC Indianapolis Welcomes Tanya Searcy to Local Advisory Board

We are thrilled to announce that Tanya Searcy, Chief Relationship Officer for Indianapolis Neighborhood Housing Partnership, has joined the Local Advisory Board at LISC Indianapolis. Tanya brings with her a profound love for the work LISC does in our communities to enhance our neighborhoods.

Throughout her career, Tanya has focused on the betterment of our community. Her roles have consistently been in spaces and places that foster growth for Indianapolis and its residents. Tanya enjoys being a community connector, collaborating to ensure Indianapolis is the most vibrant city it can be, where community members have the opportunity to thrive.

"I hope to contribute to the growth and success of our communities by connecting neighbors and organizations to resources that help them thrive," Tanya shares. "Being able to be an external advocate for the work LISC does, as well as the resources we provide at INHP, is helpful to ensure members of our community have access to tools to help their neighborhood and their families thrive."

Tanya recognizes the significant opportunities and challenges Indianapolis communities face. She points out that increasing prices, supply delays, interest rates, and inventory scarcity in housing are barriers that need to be overcome to help our communities succeed. She believes that addressing these obstacles will be critical for the community’s success.

"The biggest challenge Indianapolis communities face is that of resources. The issues our community faces cannot be fixed with philanthropy alone. It’s a large component, but not the only solution," Tanya emphasizes. "Community development creates growth. Growth creates opportunity. Opportunity creates economic mobility. For lasting impact, our community’s members need to be provided with opportunities to prosper."

At INHP, Tanya helps families achieve the dream of homeownership, ensuring they can thrive in safe, affordable, stable, and healthy environments. Her volunteer efforts over the years have all been dedicated to helping Indianapolis flourish. She believes her life experiences, career positions, and volunteerism align with LISC's core mission.

"I hope to be a good steward and ambassador of LISC’s programs and initiatives and help advance them further within our community," says Tanya. "Through measurable outcomes, I hope to help LISC impact more households and neighborhoods for the betterment of Indy."
