Financial Sustainability
We know that healthy, sustainable communities are made up of people who have living wage jobs and feel confident about their economic futures. To get there, residents need the skills to advance along the path of employment and manage their money well. That’s why LISC invests in helping people tackle all the facets of financial life—earning a steady pay check, budgeting, building good credit and saving for life goals like homeownership or retirement.
LISC’s financial stability programs connect families living on low- to moderate-incomes with the financial and labor market mainstream. We offer employment and career services, financial coaching and education and low-cost, safe financial products that build credit, savings and assets.
Priorities:
- Expand Bridges to Career Opportunities program reach and improve training programs
- Forge relationships between the Bridges Network and regionally-focused employer partners
- Expand support for local businesses implementing skill-based talent management practices
Our Bridges programs connect clients to real-world training in skills that local employers need.
This program addresses the diversity gap in the technology sector and improves access to behavioral health services in the Black community.
LISC AmeriCorps is a national service program made possible by funding from the AmeriCorps federal agency to inspire community connection and promote community solutions.
