Healthy Bridges to Careers in Tech

Healthy Bridges to Careers in Tech is a LISC Indianapolis pilot program that is built on the premise that holding a high-wage promising job with the right wraparound supports, is key to participants achieving self-sufficiency. The program addresses the diversity gap in the technology sector and improves access to behavioral health services in the Black community. Building on LISC's digital skilling and coaching work with neighborhood partners, this program incorporates tech-focused Bridge programming, career pathways, and behavioral health supports to increase access for communities historically excluded from the tech sector.

LISC partners with local technology training providers to provide high-quality, occupational skills training in tech-intensive fields, and supplemental job placement support to graduates. In addition, by providing behavioral health wraparound services for Bridges participants in tech-focused career pathways, the Healthy Bridges to Careers in Tech program seeks to address commonly held stigmas attached to behavioral health in the Black community, boost occupational skills training completions, and ultimately improve job placement and retention for Black workers in the technology industry.
