On May 19th, the Kansas City Regional COVID-19 Response and Recovery Fund announced its third round of grants, which provided nearly $2.5 million to 71 organizations across the Kansas City region.
The Fund provides grants to nonprofit organizations that have experience supporting impacted communities—particularly those that are disproportionately affected by this public health crisis and its economic consequences. Nearly $18 million has been donated so far to the Fund with $8.3 million distributed through the first three rounds.
Additional grants will be released on a rolling basis as fundraising continues and needs are identified throughout all phases of the crisis.
The Fund is supported by donations from foundations, corporations and the general public, including nearly 10,000 individual contributors. The Fund is organized by a partnership of United Way of Greater Kansas City, the Greater Kansas City Community Foundation, LISC Greater Kansas City and the Mid-America Regional Council.
