Financial Opportunity Center Network
LISC Greater Kansas City has partnered with local foundations and financial institutions to bring to Kansas City a network of Financial Opportunity Center sites to help families and community members stabilize their long-term financial outlook. Based on a model developed by the Annie E. Casey Foundation, FOC sites provide individuals and families with services across three areas: employment placement and career improvement, financial education and coaching; and public benefits access. These core services are integrated to provide a multi-faceted approach to income and wealth building.
- Increases individuals’ access to jobs and builds an economically resilient, financially literate and employable workforce.
- Empowers people to take control over their financial future through coaching, financial literacy tools, career and job planning, and more.
FOC Program Elements
The LISC Greater Kansas City Financial Opportunity Center Network answers the call to help individuals and families making low-to moderate wages stabilize their long-term financial outlook and build wealth. The sites offer comprehensive services, including:

In partnership with community foundations in the Kansas City metro, LISC Greater Kansas City established the FOC network in 2013 with Women's Employment Network. The network welcomed Guadalupe Centers, Inc. in 2014, and Community Services League in 2015. The, Metropolitan Lutheran Ministry, joined in 2018.
