David (“Dave”) Musial is a Senior Director with Capital One Community Finance. In this role, he is the originations team lead for the West and Central United States. Based in Los Angeles, Dave leads a team focused on deploying debt and equity capital for the new construction and preservation of affordable housing developments located throughout Arizona, California, Colorado, Louisiana, Michigan, Minnesota, Nevada, Oregon, Texas and Washington.
Dave has worked in real estate since 2002, and his experience includes structuring complex acquisition, refinancing, new construction, and rehabilitation transactions, as well as managing affordable housing and community development portfolios. Prior to joining Capital One in 2016, Dave originated and underwrote direct equity investments for Wells Fargo.
Dave began his career in real estate development, working in acquisitions and project management for new construction and rehabilitation of affordable housing and market-rate real estate developments. He transitioned to a career in finance in 2010.
Dave holds a bachelor's degree in International Business and Chinese from California State University, Long Beach. He is a native Southern Californian, and in his free time, he enjoys spending time with his daughter and spouse, going on long bike rides, trail running and golfing.
What drew you to LISC LA?
I was drawn to LISC LA because of the organization’s forward thinking programming and perpetual drive to continually innovate. I’ve been most impressed with the organization’s ability to lead change through collaborative alliances that are focused on building inclusive communities and catalyzing socioeconomic mobility.
Why did you decide to join the LAC?
I was inspired to support the organization’s role as a leading change agent in the Los Angeles community–the place that I call home.
What would you like to see happen as a result of your participation on the Local Advisory Committee?
I hope to support LISC LA to not only perpetuate its role as a change agent in the community, but also to help expand its societal impact by broadening the reach of the organization’s programming to foster socioeconomic mobility and wellbeing.
