Favorite thing you like to do in Los Angeles?

While you can usually find me trying to hit up as many local events, restaurants, and businesses as I can in Long Beach where I live, I love a walk through the Arts District to check out the latest murals and street art. I’m also long overdue to take in a game (and sunset) at Dodger Stadium, hopefully next season!

Book you’re reading/podcast you’re listening to?

In the last couple of years I’ve come around to audiobooks from the library as a great way to fit in more of the nonfiction titles I want to check out during busy times. I’m currently working my way through:

Elastic by Leonard Mlodinow

Under the Skin: The Hidden Toll of Racism on American Lives and on the Health of Our Nation by Linda Villarosa

Favorite quote?

“To be truly visionary we have to root our imagination in our concrete reality while simultaneously imagining possibilities beyond that reality.” – bell hooks

What are you most looking forward to at LISC?

I’m excited to be part of such a smart and passionate team – colleagues who understand the complex challenges our region faces, continually learn from partners and community members, and support each other in our work.

I am looking forward to supporting the relationships with LISC LA’s funding partners to match their desire for impact with our evolving programs and the work of our local nonprofit partners that are deeply imbedded in the communities they serve. Having formerly worked with a LISC LA partner organization, I know the impact that LISC’s unique investments in capacity building can make to further community development efforts.
