During his first 100 days in office, LISC’s fourth President and CEO, Maurice Jones, visited the California LISC offices. In January 2017, LA LISC was happy to introduce and welcome Maurice to the LA Market as our second moment. Maurice began the day by visiting the Vernon-Central WorkSource Center at LA Trade Tech College where he met and spoke to both our Financial Opportunity Center community partners, Coalition for Responsible Community Development and Youth Policy Institute, as well as the clients that utilized and benefited from the services provided.
We later wrapped up the evening with a reception at LA City Club with many of LA LISC’s civic, corporate, and community partners where LISC leadership from all levels: LISC National CEO and President, Steve Herman; Western Region Program Vice President, Joe Horiye; Local Advisory Council Executive Chair, Steve Herman; and LA LISC Executive Director, Tunua Thrash-Ntuk; shared their visions for a robust LISC presence in Los Angeles with a particular focus on Economic Development to transform and uplift communities throughout the Greater Los Angeles region.
