Over the past 30 years, LA LISC programs have touched many communities as well as individuals working in the community development field. Aside from providing capital, philanthrophy, and technical assistance to community development corporations and projects in low income communities, LISC is invested building the capacity of the individuals that make up these organizations to better serve their communities. From our AmeriCorps program to our Careers as Changemakers Series to our Housing Development Training Institute, LISC seeks to provide practical, responsive, and innovative trainings and opportunities to those interested in community development work.
For our #ThrowbackThursday on twitter, we shared a photo of participants in the 1994 Affordable Housing and Community Development Training Program. Notable alumni in the picture include Joel Jacinto, who currently serves as a Commission on the Los Angeles Board of Public Works, as well as Arnulfo Manrique, the Executive Director of MAAC, a dynamic nonprofit organization offering a wide range of services to individuals and families in San Diego County. Can you identify any other alums?
