For All Businesses

  • 2019 Federal Business Tax Return
Filed return for 2019, including all required schedules.Make sure the returns you submit are not password-protected -- especially returns prepared by a CPA.
  • Certificate of Good Standing or Business Certificate(DBA)
You must have one or the other:
    • For Corporations, LLCs and Partnerships: the Certificate of Good Standing is from the Secretary of the Commonwealth's office, NOT the Department of Revenue. Double-check your document here to see if you have the right one.
    • For Sole Proprietors: The Business Certificate (DBA) from your city or town.
If you didn't submit and don't have one of the certificates above, you must apply for one NOW to get it in time! You will need it to complete this application.
  • Business License
If applicable to your business or industry, submit a copy of your license to operate, business license or professional certification. If you are a day care and provided a business license instead of a DBA, that is not enough.  You still need to provide a DBA.
  • IRS Form W-9
You can find it here. Remember to sign your W-9 before uploading it. Sole Proprietors: use your Social Security Number (SSN). Corporations: use your EIN.

For the "Businesses with 50 or Fewer Employees" Grant

  • 2019 Federal Personal Tax Returns for All Business Owners
Filed 2019 form 1040 with all schedules for all business owners with 20% or greater ownership

For the "Businesses with 5 or Fewer Employees" Grant

  • 2019 Federal Personal Tax Returns
File 2019 returns for each business owner, including all required schedules

Technical Assistance & Outreach Partners

We at LISC (Local Initiatives Support Corporation) are a nonprofit organization coordinating a group of nonprofit-organizations to help applicants of the MGCC Grant program. Our coalition of partners cannot see your application, confirm your application is complete, or guarantee you will receive funding.

In October 2020, Governor Charlie Baker announced $50.8 million in emergency funds would be made available for small businesses. An additional $668 million was announced on December 23rd, after over 11,000 applications were received for that grant program. Massachusetts Growth Capital Corporation (MGCC) is administering these funds and other funds to businesses experiencing economic hardship and a loss of income due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

LISC with more than 40 community partners across the Commonwealth recognize the significant language and technology barriers many minority-owned businesses may face in applying for these grants. Business support organizations (BSOs) across the Commonwealth arelready to provide help to businesses for the MGCC grant application.
