LISC AmeriCorps member coordinates Neighborhood Promise Day in Revere
In July, Jasmin Bach, LISC AmeriCorps member at The Neighborhood Developers (TND) coordinated a successful National Neighborhood Promise Day at Sandler Square in Revere, Massachusetts. TND used the event and a grant to beautify Sandler Square and to unite the community. At the event, volunteers placed brand new circular benches around the trees, added decorative solar fairy lights through the tops of the trees, replaced old planters with new ones with new flowers, and added art around the square, including fence art and three large sidewalk murals. The beautification of this space will give the community a place to sit and enjoy the murals. Jasmin helped coordinate the day’s volunteers and logistics as her first event as an AmeriCorps member in her role as a Placekeeping Community Engagement Specialist since starting her service in May 2021.
