What We Do
Inclusive and resilient neighborhoods don’t just happen. They are shaped by many visions, voices, and decisions. Their transformation and growth are the result of collaborative choices made over time.
LISC NY has 40 years of experience helping local champions build a more resilient and inclusive New York. We are dedicated to helping underinvested New York neighborhoods meet community needs, from affordable housing to quality jobs. We work hand-in-hand with community-based nonprofits, government agencies, technical assistance providers, and philanthropic funders to ensure that New York neighborhoods are rich with opportunities. LISC NY believes that our neighborhoods are at their best – as places to live, do business, work, and raise families – when they are racially diverse and culturally dynamic. By activating impact-oriented partnerships, we work to ensure that our state is one of shared prosperity.
Over the past 40 years, LISC NY has invested over $3 billion, leveraged an additional $7.6 billion in support of low- and moderate-income New York communities. This has resulted in over 42,000 affordable homes built and preserved, and nearly 2.5 million square feet of retail and community space preserved, helping to stabilize neighborhoods.
