To all our LISC New York network and supporters:
We are excited to present the first LISC NY Visual Annual Report. Throughout, you will learn of the work the LISC NY Team accomplished in our first year as a statewide office – including work in new markets across the state. You will learn the work the extraordinary and dedicated LISC NY Team accomplished in 2022.
The coming together of LISC New York, encompassing both the New York City and Western New York offices, over the past year has been a true effort in collaboration on the matters that affect New Yorkers across the state. We continue to maintain and grow our focus in those existing markets as we increase our voice in the advocacy space with local and state elected officials, grow our market impact through investment, capitalize on statewide resources, and leverage our previous investments to ensure that Black and brown businesses and communities are prioritized in New York’s economic recovery through capital investment in community infrastructure, housing, and commercial real estate in disinvested communities across the state.
LISC NY works with local advocates and non-profits in communities across the state to develop specific and tailored strategies to build equity and investment where it’s needed most. We continue to follow our three-pillar strategy as we expand our reach:
(1) radical healing that counters racial bias and inequity,
(2) inclusive economic transformation that prioritizes human talent, community health, diverse enterprises, innovation, and public infrastructure; and
(3) sustainable wealth generation in communities of color, including through ownership, asset building and career ladders.
We look forward to continuing our support and investing in the strategies that are working to close the racial wealth gap – many illustrated in the annual report have already shown promise toward that effort. Thank you to all who worked with LISC NY in our first year.
