LISC Philadelphia was recently awarded $20,000 in funding from the Brook J. Lenfest Foundation, administered by Philadelphia Foundation, in support of their Financial Opportunity Centers (FOCs). The generous donation will be used to raise awareness, increase funding and enhance programming for the District 1199C Training & Upgrading Fund and Asociacion Puertorriquenos en Marcha (APM), two career and financial coaching service centers in the Philadelphia region.
FOCs provide employment and career counseling, one-on-one financial coaching, educational opportunities, and low-cost financial products that help build credit, savings and assets. The cornerstone of the FOC model is providing these services in an integrated way rather than as stand-alone services, demonstrating a long-term commitment to helping clients reach their goals. LISC has a network of 80 Financial Opportunity Centers across the country, all of them embedded in trusted local community organizations and dedicated to long-term commitment in helping clients reach their goals.
“LISC is honored to receive vital funds from the Brook J. Lenfest Foundation, supporting our Financial Opportunity Centers and ensuring more Philadelphians have access to the skills they need for well-paying jobs,,” says LISC Philadelphia Executive Director Andrew Frishkoff.
