The Abbey on Monroe
302 W Monroe St, Phoenix, Arizona 85003
This year we’re excited to convene at a very special venue. The Abbey on Monroe was a labor of love and a vision of what could grow in Downtown Phoenix that our team is proud to have supported. Along with getting to tour this adaptive-reuse gem, we hope you’ll enjoy a keynote address about community power building, recognize the 2024 cohort of the Live Well Arizona Incubator and recognize two community award honorees. How Civil Law is Relied on to Displace Communities and Increase Inequality
Dr. Stefano Bloch, a professor of cultural geography at the University of Arizona, will share how laws have been used to push people out of their homes and neighborhoods, worsening economic inequality for marginalized communities. Drawing from his extensive research, Dr. Bloch will shed light on this ongoing history and what we can do to reverse these trends by empowering communities.
