Building Strength and Equity
One of the most devastating aspects of the Covid-19 crisis is the disproportionate impact it is having on communities of color—a clear outcome of discrimination and underinvestment that long predates the pandemic. Our urgent response to the fallout for these communities includes intentional efforts to bridge the gaps that created this disparate impact in the first place. And these actions are not limited to the lifespan of this pandemic—our strategy is designed to help communities and people recover, and to build the strength and resiliency that will carry us all into a more equitable and just future.
Who We Are
For more than 40 years, LISC, the country's largest community development nonprofit, has invested in people and places to move the needle on housing, employment, family wealth, education, safety and justice, and health. We do this by connecting communities with financing, technical assistance and other resources that help boost capacity and stability. And we prioritize equity in every program and policy we deliver.
The Rapid Relief & Resiliency Fund
The LISC Rapid Relief and Resiliency Fund will inject much-needed, flexible resources into historically under-invested communities. These are the places that are suffering most from the economic fallout gripping our nation due to the Covid-19 pandemic. Our aim is to raise up to $100 million in grants, loans and other investments for the Fund.
Small Business Assistance
Small businesses are at serious risk. These enterprises are the lifeblood of communities, providing critical goods and services as well as jobs to locals. Small businesses desperately need emergency assistance to bridge the gap and stay afloat until the crisis passes.

As the Covid-19 pandemic unfolds, LISC is taking action to ensure that we continue to support the people and places where we work. We will do so while protecting the health of our LISC team and contributing our utmost to help slow the spread of the virus across America, and at the same time mitigating its economic impact in our communities.

In times of crisis, it is more important than ever that we stay well informed and connected, and support each other. Locally and nationally, we are working with policymakers, partners and funders to determine the best ways to provide that support.
