On Friday, Feb. 25, joined by U.S. Congresswoman Sara Jacobs, California Senate Pro Tem Toni Atkins and Council President Pro Tem Monica Montgomery Steppe, a coalition of local nonprofit and government agencies introduced the most recent recipient of the San Diego Black Homebuyer Program, a local effort that provides grants for home ownership.
The featured grantee is Jordan Daniels, a Black and Jewish man originally from the Bay Area and is active in San Diego’s LGBTQ+ community. He recently completed his purchase of a 1 bedroom/1 bath, 741 square-foot condo in the College Area.
Daniels received a grant of $49,000 from the program that was launched last year. Since then, the program has provided grants to 18 San Diego-based Black homebuyers to purchase their first homes.
Homebuyers interested in grant assistance through the San Diego Black Homebuyers Program should go to: www.lisc.org/san-diego/homebuyers/ for more information.
Businesses, individuals, or government agencies interested in providing additional grant monies should contact Ricardo Flores at rflores@lisc.org.
