Richmond, VA (October 6, 2021) – LISC Virginia and Henrico County are pleased to announce the launch of the Henrico County Small Business Resiliency Grant Program. This $375,000 fund will provide grants and coaching services to small businesses in Henrico County to assist in their transformation toward improved safety, sustainability, and profitability.
Approximately 15 small businesses will receive business coaching services to design a plan to improve their resiliency and sustainability during the pandemic and beyond. Businesses will also receive grants between $10,000 - $25,000 to implement their plan.
Beginning October 6 at 9:00 am, small businesses can register their interest in the program here: https://lisc.tfaforms.net/352. The Expressions of Interest (EOI) form is due Wednesday, December 22, at 11:59 pm.
“The Henrico County Small Business Resiliency Grant Program is about more than just rapid response; it is about building the long-term resiliency of our small business community. After receiving relief grants, many businesses are now ready to become more resilient and sustainable. Our program provides intensive one-on-one business coaching and dedicated funding to help businesses design and implement plans that will help them operate during the pandemic and beyond.” – Jane Ferrara, LISC Virginia Executive Director
Businesses can use the grant funds for creating new products or services related to the core businesses, modernizing technology for e-commerce, rehabbing space to efficiently and safely serve customers, purchasing equipment, and more. Businesses will work with a coach for six months to create a project plan that includes goals, benchmarks, and strategies to implement their vision.
The fund was made available after Henrico County Board of Supervisors approved the use of federal CARES Act Community Development Block Grant funds. Henrico’s CDBG program is administered by the Department of Community Revitalization.
Small business owners can obtain more information about the program on the LISC website www.lisc.org/virginia. For additional county resources, please see Henrico County’s COVID-19 resource page.
