Opening Opportunity and Well-being For All

We are the Charlotte office of the Local Initiatives Support Corporation or LISC, the nation’s largest community development organization. We work to make economic equality a reality for all Charlotteans. Our efforts focus on key areas to create stability for communities, families, and residents alike.

What is LISC?

Since its start in 1979, LISC has grown to become the nation’s largest community development organization. It has invested over $24 billion in neighborhoods, citizens, families, housing and entrepreneurs, while channeling more than $69 billion in total funding.

LISC uses its resources, people and financial strength to power change. The organization has $374 million in total assets and raised an additional $95 million in private grant funds in 2019.
