The Rubinger Community Fellowship:
Invested directly in local change makers across America
Supported innovative solutions within community development
Championed
diverse nonprofit
leadership
For five years, the Rubinger Community Fellowship, named in honor of former LISC CEO Michael Rubinger, invested directly in local changemakers to promote economic and racial justice. The impact of those innovations endures, and we continue to celebrate their impact.
During the life of the program, the fellowship supported 49 mid-career leaders from across the country to test new ideas in the communities where they live and work. LISC awarded $40,000 to up to 10 fellows each year, and the recipients then spent their fellowship year pursuing projects that might have otherwise been impossible to undertake given the intensity of their jobs, and the limited resources available to most grassroots community developers.
