LISC AmeriCorps

LISC AmeriCorps partners with community development and non-profit organizations to place AmeriCorps members at their sites for up to 11-month service terms. These placements serve a vital, three-fold purpose: members serve the organizations where they are placed and spearhead valuable projects; they engage local residents in the revitalization of their own neighborhoods; and they develop skills, experience and insight into community development and the profound value of service.

AmeriCorps members receive leadership training from the Mel King Institute, a competitive living stipend and benefits, and an education award after they’ve successfully completed their service.  LISC's AmeriCorps program has been building local community development capacity and talent in Massachusetts for over 28 years — since AmeriCorps' founding.

We have placed more than
140 AmeriCorps
members at CDCs across MA
