Building Partnerships for Crime Reduction

March 22, 2017

8:30 a.m. - noon

Conference Live Stream: Watch the Recording

Many communities across the country struggle to fight persistent crime and poverty, and can have strained relations with law enforcement and other criminal justice agencies. The nature of the crime issues vary, as do the existing partners and resources that can help respond. There is no easy fix, nor any “one size fits all” solution.

Yet urban neighborhoods and rural areas around the country are rich with residents, local law enforcement leaders and other partners who are committed to making their communities better. They are coming together and pursuing coordinated safety and revitalization strategies that are producing dramatic drops in crime, an uptick in business investment and home rehabilitation, and more collaboration between local law enforcement and residents to resolve problems.

Join us in dialogue with police chiefs, prosecutors, residents and federal officials about successful strategies to put our most distressed communities on a path to safety and economic opportunity. Featured voices will include leaders in the Byrne Criminal Justice Innovation Program, an initiative of the U.S. Department of Justice Bureau of Justice Assistance that is supported by LISC.
