On September 16 and 17, 2024, the LISC Child Care and Early Learning team held a Child Care is Infrastructure regional convening at historic Hotel Phillips in Kansas City, MO. Over 50 participants representing diverse geographies and backgrounds were in attendance, engaging in an immersive experience of expert perspectives, essential information, peer learning, networking & inspiration. Topics covered included funding opportunities through a federal and local policy lens, strategic partnerships, and infrastructure supply building strategies.

In this webinar, LISC Child Care & Early Learning and LISC Community Research and Impact share a new tool created to support development project teams in planning and quantifying the anticipated social impacts of intentional, thoughtfully planned co-location of child care space within community development projects to better support children and families. The teams present the rationale and purpose of the tool, how to use it, and strategies for using the information in concert with forecasting and grant proposal tasks.
