Cycle House
About the project
Cycle House Owners, LLC is a joint venture between the sustainable development companies Urban Green and VNV. Together, the companies aim to create a greener and healthier Washington DC through smart-growth urban site development and affordable housing that incorporates energy and resource-efficient design, materials, and systems.
Cycle House Owners, LLC is headquartered in Washington, DC.
LISC provided $1.04 million in predevelopment financing and a $5.50 million construction loan to support the creation of Cycle House, a new LEED Platinum mixed-use building to be built on a vacant lot at 1520-1522 North Capitol Street NW in the Truxton Circle neighborhood of DC’s Ward 5. One of the first net-zero energy, affordable housing projects in DC, Cycle House will provide 18 affordable apartments for households between 30-60% AMI, atop ground-floor commercial space containing a sit-down restaurant and retail. Additional highlights of the project include bicycle amenities designed to maximize the ease of cycling for building residents, including free bike storage for each unit and a bicycle-friendly elevator. DC Green Bank also provided a $2.00 million participation loan as part of the construction financing.
