Every community deserves safe, quality sports facilities where youth and their families can play and socialize. Thanks to the Game On-Community Places to Play Initiative, a partnership of LISC and The DICK’S Sporting Goods Foundation, under-resourced neighborhoods in 14 cities and towns now have funding to improve their local youth sports facilities.
The grant from the Patriots, the NFL Foundation, and Local Initiatives Support Corporation (LISC) is part of $3 million in field refurbishment awards allocated this year. The field will serve about 5,000 youth, including the Fitchburg High School football team.
Brooke Charter Schools celebrated a new field at the school’s campus in the Mattapan neighborhood of Boston with an all student-assembly, representatives from the New England Patriots, staff from Local Initiatives Support Corporation (LISC) Boston, and community and project partners.
