Brian Guyer develops data-driven housing solutions that meet the needs of growing and complex communities. As community development manager for Human Resource Development Council (HRDC), he oversees housing development and strategy that spans Bozeman and nearby communities. He has helped launch the Big Sky Housing Trust Fund; he oversaw a “tiny homes” pilot to address affordable housing in Bozeman; and he managed a local homeownership innovation effort with other local organizations.
Earlier in his career, Brian worked with Mountainlands Community Housing Trust in Park City, Utah, devising and implementing housing plans while also managing an extensive portfolio of housing units. He spent several years at the United Way of Salt Lake City working on strategies to bridge the school achievement gap and expanding volunteerism. Prior to that, he was assistant director of resource development for the United Way of Metropolitan Dallas.
Brian graduated from Baldwin-Wallace College in Berea, Ohio, with a bachelor’s degree in political science.

Develop case studies on how the “tiny homes” concept addresses three challenges: chronic homelessness, the demand for below-market rentals, and affordable homeownership. From that research, develop a curriculum to help local organizations apply lessons learned in ways that address their local housing challenges.
