Since 2012, the Great Oaks Legacy Charter School, a K-12 grade college preparatory network has been preparing its scholars to succeed in college.
Great Oaks Legacy Charter School is located in Newark, New Jersey. At the time of closing, 87% of its students qualified for free or reduced price lunch.
LISC provided a $2.2 million loan for the acquisition and predevelopment work related to a new 32,000 square foot facility. Loan proceeds will be used for demolition, environmental remediation, architecture, and design work. Additionally, loan proceeds will cover loan fees, lender-required reports, and capitalized interest. The new facility will be Fairmount Heights Middle School, which serves 324 students at full enrollment.
