For many of us, our fondest school memories are shaped by great teachers—those who inspire, motivate, and leave a lasting impact. Research shows that teacher diversity plays a crucial role in this, as it not only fosters racial equity but also has a significant impact on student performance.

Over the last three years, Daniel Stinfil, senior portfolio manager for LISC Charter School Financing , has worked to identify and acknowledge best practices for advancing racial equity in schools, with the goal of highlighting these as key characteristics that also strengthen a school’s creditworthiness.
