To help schools wrap their arms around safety and violence problems within their walls and beyond, LISC Safety & Justice has been tapped to provide training and technical assistance to grantees of Enhancing School Capacity to Address Youth Violence, a program of the the U.S. Department of Justice Office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention (OJJDP).
LISC is working with schools in OJJDP grantee sites and their community-based partners to help them build relationships, establish common goals, and identify strategies that leverage resources within their communities. Together, they are addressing the social determinants of safety in students lives, including stronger social connections, access to resources, and help in times of crisis for both kids and their families.
