Northside Institutions Neighborhood Alliance, Inc. (NINA) is a not-for-profit corporation organized in 2003 and launched in 2004 by several major Hartford institutions to work in partnership with neighborhood groups to boost community reinvestment in the Asylum Hill neighborhood. Primary program priorities for NINA are homeownership development and public safety.

LISC provided NINA a $565,000 construction loan to rehabilitate two historic homes in the fourth phase of Heritage Homes in the Asylum Hills neighborhood of Hartford. 847 Asylum will be renovated into an owner-occupied three family home and 29 Ashley Street will be a single family home. Both homes will include energy-efficient upgrades. The Heritage Homes project includes 12 units of housing in total, 50% of which are affordable to families making no more than 120% AMI.
