64 Beach Street
About the project
The Asian Community Development Corporation (ACDC) was founded in 1987 in response to the growing and unmet needs of Chinatown. Its mission is it to create and preserve affordable, sustainable and healthy neighborhoods in underserved and immigrant Asian American Communities.
ACDC is located in Boston, MA.
LISC is providing a $1.75 million loan to support ACDC's acquisition and development of a 6-story building at 64 Beach Street. The project will preserve 14 residential units of affordable housing at a mix of income restrictions between 30-80% AMI, protecting and maintaining the tenancy of the current Chinatown residents. It will also preserve the current commercial tenant, the New Golden Gate restaurant, at this location in the heart of the Chinatown community. This project will help stabilize this site and create a long-term affordable housing development in what is currently a “Naturally Occurring Affordable Housing” (NOAH) development, while improving the quality of the building by completing necessary upgrades.
