Bold Charter School
About the project
Bold Charter School (BCS) is a public charter shool currently serving 399 students across two locations in the Bronx. BCS’ mission is to help build the academic and character foundation each student needs to succeed in college and career and to serve as the next generation of leaders.
BCS operates in and serves children from Community School Districts 8 and 12 in the Bronx.
LISC provided BCS a $3.30 million construction loan to support leasehold improvements at a new location that will allow them to combine all grades K-5. After the renovation, the new location, Daly Ave, will house 16 classrooms serving 480 students. The new site will also include a cafeteria, indoor gym and basketball court. This loan was partially financed using LISC's Equitable Recovery Program award from the CDFI Fund.
